Welcome to the site of The 45th Guards, a Living History Group based in Ireland. We seek to recreate the lives of the Red Army Soldier both men and women who fought against,  bravely held back and ultimately defeated the forces of Nazi Germany during the Great Patriotic War (1941-45). 

 

We  portray a campaign company of the 129th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 45th Guards Rifle Division of the Soviet Red Army during two different phases of the war, as part of the besieged garrison of Leningrad 1941-43 and as part of the victorious and well equipped army of 1943-45.

 

The group is non political and non sectarian.

 

We attend battle re-enactments and Living History displays in Ireland and Great Britain and are members of the Wartime Living History Association
